The Grebaje Valley, accessible from Plav town in less than 30 minutes, is the principal entry point into the Montenegrin side of the Prokletije massif. The valley is a glacial trough of extraordinary beauty — steep walls rising on both sides, a series of glacial lakes at the head of the valley, and trails leading into the high mountain terrain toward the Albanian and Kosovo borders. The Balkan Peaks Trail — a long-distance hiking route linking Montenegro, Albania, and Kosovo — passes through Grebaje and Plav, making the town a natural hub for multi-day trekkers crossing the region on foot. No direct public transport: There is no direct public bus service from Podgorica Airport to Plav. There are bus connections from Podgorica city centre to Plav, but they do not serve the airport and are not practical for travellers arriving with hiking equipment and luggage. A pre-booked private taxi to Plav is the only reliable, door-to-door option from the airport — and at 110€ split between a small group, it is highly competitive with any alternative.

Gear and luggage: Hikers arriving with full packs, trekking poles, and mountain equipment are welcome — all hiking gear is included in the transfer price at no extra charge.
