Over 2 kilometres of open sandy beach with no high-rise hotels, no beach clubs, and no crowds — even in August. Home to the largest campsite in Montenegro. Taxi Podgorica to Buljarica from 50€, around 50 minutes from the airport.
Buljarica is one of the longest and most genuinely unspoilt sandy beaches in Montenegro — over 2 kilometres of open shoreline in a sheltered bay between Petrovac (3 km north) and the Spičansko field. What makes it exceptional is not just the length of the beach, but what is not there: no high-rise hotels, no beach club operations with roped-off sections and branded parasols, no jet ski hire, no noise. The beach is backed by olive groves, pine trees, and a low-rise scatter of family apartments and bungalows that have grown organically over decades without ever overwhelming the landscape. Even in the height of July and August, when every other beach on the northern Riviera is elbow-to-elbow, Buljarica retains a quality of space and ease that is increasingly rare. The taxi Podgorica to Buljarica — the private airport transfer from TGD to Buljarica — takes around 50 to 60 minutes via the Sozina tunnel, and TTM has been covering this route since 2003.
The relationship between Buljarica and the wider Petrovac area is one of complementary character. Petrovac (3 km north) has the restaurant scene, the old Venetian tower, the evening promenade, the café culture — Buljarica has the beach, the space, and the silence. Many guests base themselves in Buljarica and use Petrovac as the evening destination, either walking the coastal path or taking a short taxi ride. The two together make one of the finest combinations on the Paštrovići Riviera. TTM covers both destinations from Podgorica Airport at the same fixed price, and transfers between the two at any time of day or night.
Buljarica is also home to the largest campsite in Montenegro — a well-established, well-organised camping area directly behind the beach that has been attracting campervan and caravan travellers from across Europe for decades. The camping community here has its own particular character — international, unhurried, and committed to returning year after year. German, Austrian, Dutch, and Slovenian plates are a permanent fixture in the camp from June to September. It is the kind of place where people stay for three days and end up staying three weeks.
One of the longest undeveloped sandy beaches in Montenegro — open, generous, and never crowded even in peak season. No beach clubs, no enforced parasol zones, no noise. Just the beach, the water, and the pine-backed hillside behind.
A well-organised camping area directly behind the beach — decades of history, a loyal international community of campervan and caravan travellers, and the particular culture of a long-stay European camping destination. One of the few places in Montenegro where the camping is genuinely world-class.
The charming town of Petrovac with its Venetian tower, restaurants, and evening promenade is just 3 km from Buljarica — a short coastal walk or a quick private taxi ride. The two destinations complement each other perfectly: Buljarica for the beach, Petrovac for the evening.
The hinterland behind Buljarica beach is a landscape of ancient olive groves, pine forest, and open hillside that has remained largely undeveloped. Walking through the olive groves in the morning — before the beach is busy, before the heat builds — is one of the quiet pleasures of staying in this part of the Riviera.
South of Buljarica, the wild cove of Perazica Do and the Blue Flag beach of Drobni Pijesak are accessible on foot along the coastal path or by short taxi ride. Both offer a different character from the main Buljarica beach — more sheltered, more intimate, and worth the additional effort to reach.
The coastal path connecting Buljarica to Petrovac — running through pine forest and along the cliff edge above the sea — is one of the finest short walks on the Paštrovići Riviera. Around 45 minutes on foot, with views back over the Buljarica beach and forward toward the Venetian tower of Petrovac. TTM can drop you at one end and pick you up at the other.
Buljarica's accommodation is predominantly family-run — apartments and bungalows directly behind the beach, owned and managed by local families who have been welcoming guests for years. There are no large hotel chains. The restaurants are small, honest, and mostly seafood-focused. For a wider restaurant selection, Petrovac (3 km north) is a short private taxi ride away. TTM provides private taxi to Buljarica directly from Podgorica Airport at a fixed price.
🏨 Apartments & Accommodation
Two well-regarded apartment complexes directly behind the Buljarica beach — comfortable, clean, and consistently well-reviewed by returning guests. The proximity to the water and the personal management style of both properties give them a character that larger hotel complexes in the area cannot replicate. TTM provides airport transfer to Buljarica apartments from Podgorica Airport at 50€.
Two further family-run apartment options in the Buljarica area with established reputations for quality and reliability. Bonazza is particularly well-regarded for its garden setting behind the beach; Davidović offers straightforward, comfortable accommodation with easy beach access and the honest hospitality of a Montenegrin family guesthouse.
The largest campsite in Montenegro — a well-organised camping area directly behind the beach, accommodating campervans, caravans, and tents across a generous area of shaded and open ground. Full hook-up facilities, sanitary blocks, a small shop and café, and direct beach access. TTM transports campers and their gear from Podgorica Airport; mention your equipment when booking so we can confirm the right vehicle.
🍽️ Restaurants
Two of the most reliably good restaurants in the Buljarica area — Savojo for fresh fish and grilled seafood in a relaxed setting close to the beach, Galeb for a similar quality of cooking with a slightly different ambience and a terrace that makes the most of the evening light. Both draw on the local catch and the straightforward traditions of southern Montenegrin coastal cooking.
A distinctive and much-discussed restaurant in the Buljarica area that brings Georgian cuisine — khinkali, khachapuri, and the full range of Caucasian cooking — to a setting that might seem unlikely but works entirely naturally. One of the more interesting culinary surprises on the Paštrovići Riviera and consistently well-reviewed by guests who stumble upon it.
For guests who want a wider choice of restaurants for the evening, Petrovac (3 km north) offers Ponta Beach, Tramontana, Giardino, Casamia, and Šumice — all within a short private taxi ride. TTM covers the Buljarica–Petrovac transfer at any time; many guests use it for dinner and a return the same evening.

The taxi Podgorica to Buljarica — the private taxi from Podgorica Airport (TGD) to Buljarica — covers approximately 50 km via the Sozina tunnel and takes around 50 to 60 minutes. There is no direct public bus from either airport to Buljarica. TTM drops guests at their specific apartment, at the campsite entrance, or anywhere on the beach road — 24/7 at a fixed price agreed before you travel. For campervan and caravan guests with large equipment, the Minivan (VW T6.1 or Ford Transit) is recommended — mention your gear when booking.
